Malibu Boats, the global leader in watersports towboat sales, has announced its next market disruption with the new 2017 Wakesetter 21 VLX. The 21 VLX comes equipped with Malibu exclusive innovations, including the Surf Gate, for making world-class wakes and huge, customizable surf waves. With an MSRP of $79,995USD ($106,499 CAN) this well-equipped model includes a long list of standard features, plus a Malibu trailer, bimini top and a cover, making it the best value in its class.

With seating for up to 13, the 21 VLX makes an ideal family-fun watersports boat that’s perfect for skiing, wakeboarding or surfing. In addition, its 21-foot length makes it easy to tow and easy to store.

“Less than nine months after introducing our ultra-premium M235, we are introducing the best performing 21-foot boat on the market at a price point no one else can match, when comparably equipped,” said Malibu CEO Jack Springer. “We believe the 21 VLX will appeal to the first-time towboat buyer looking to experience the thrills of our sport, or a Malibu owner who’s been wanting to upgrade from one of our older Sunsetter or RIDE series models, and didn’t know how affordable true Malibu style, performance and luxury could be.”

Malibu didn’t leave anything out of the new 21 VLX. On the contrary, this 21-foot model comes equipped with the Malibu exclusive Integrated Surf Platform, including the wake-optimized hull design, Quad Hard Tank Ballast system, Power Wedge II hydrofoil and the revolutionary Surf Gate with Surf Band that turns a big wake into an endless, surfable wave. Also included is the all-new G3.5 tower and all comes standard, along with the renowned Malibu dual-screen digital Command Center to control it all.

Engaging the much-imitated but still-unmatched hydraulic Surf Gate turns the wake into a massive and customizable wave on either side of the boat. Using the Command Center, the driver can control its size, shape, and speed for any skill level, as easy as tapping a finger. Like all Malibu models, the 21 VLX also offers the Malibu Surf Band wrist remote that lets the rider control the wake or wave right from the board.
