Malibu Boats. Why a Malibu, should be your next Boat

Why a Malibu, should be your next Boat

THE TRUTH IS ON THE WATER:

Dispatches from Malibu CEO Jack Springer
"At boat shows and elsewhere, I am asked the question "Why Malibu Boats or Axis Wake Research?" Reason #4 is Malibu Boats quality of build. I find it humorous at shows that competitors try to sell their boats by immediately attacking Malibu and Axis Wake Research, even making it up. At Malibu, we don't encourage that from our people or our dealers, we just talk about our boats. Automatically, great quality goes back to our great people at the plant, hand building every boat. There are also additional key reasons why Malibu builds the best quality boat on the market. Here are just a few:
  • Patented FIBEX floor system that is the strongest in the marine industry. No one else has this.
  • Malibu uses eight layers of hand laid woven for strength and hull durability. Most others use six layers and one we know of has gone to four layers to save cost.
  • Our hulls and decks are chemically and mechanically bonded together. Others just use mechanical (screws in the deck and hull).
  • Factory Tour | Full Version from Malibu Boats on Vimeo.
  •  All hull sides are solid fiberglass with no cores; cores can lead to thermal cracking and delamination.
  • Malibu uses carbon fiber (among the strongest material available) in high stress areas of the laminate and where hardware is bolted on.
  • All resin and gelcoat is specifically formulated for our process; we will not use generic resin and gelcoat.
  • Our stringers provide superior structural support. Others have started designing stringer systems to minimize the size and structural support in order to provide more ballast. This can cause boats to lean to one side and also impact the wake shape.
  • Vertical integration in which we have brought towers, cleats, grab handles, bimini racks, billet and several other items inside of our operations. This allows us to control design and quality while also eliminating the middle man markup and keep costs lower.
  • Stringent requirements for supplier quality in which our suppliers must meet best in class standards.
  • The amount of testing that we perform on any new feature or product is light years ahead of where others are. Check out the videos on our new touchscreen and G4 tower as examples."
